The Castle of Hardricourt

Located 35 km from Paris, Château d'Hardricourt, in its current form, was built in the 19th century. This property, steeped in history, has been carefully restored and subtly brought up to date, and was opened to the public in 2015 for private and business functions, as well as for residential use.

A prestigious place that knows how to offer a new dimension to relaxation, celebrations or work in any season.

History of the castle

Located at the top of the Hardricourt commune in the Yvelines department, at the gateway to the Vexin Français regional park, the first château was built on this site in the 17th century by a business merchant.

In 1786, the château appeared on the intendance plan, comprising a main building, two entrance pavilions and a tower.

In the 19th century, the château was rebuilt on the ruins of the old castle.

In 1821, the château appeared on the Napoleonic cadastre, with a main building, a tower in its extension (not in the same position as in 1786), two entrance pavilions and a square-plan building behind the northeast entrance pavilion.

In the late 1970s, the château was purchased by Jean-Bedel Bokassa, ruler of the Central African Republic. After his death in 1996, the château was abandoned until its acquisition in 2011.

A rebirth by the book

This exceptional building, steeped in history and set in a one-hectare park planted with trees, underwent over five years of renovation. The challenge here was to breathe new life into a place while respecting its identity and personality.

Thanks to a precise, respectful and sensitive renovation, the owner has achieved much more than a simple refurbishment. She has worked with history while meeting contemporary luxury criteria. In particular, technology plays an important, albeit discreet, role.

On the banks of the Seine at the gateway to Vexin

Between Paris and Normandy, in the Yvelines département, Château d'Hardricourt is at the gateway to the French Vexin Regional Nature Park. This vast natural area is a blend of woodland and farmland. Long the breadbasket of Paris, its landscape has been shaped by the creation of agricultural fields and villages. But this natural park of valleys, orchards, limestone hillsides, meadows and woods is above all a refuge for the flora and fauna of north-western Paris. Rivers and streams form its natural boundaries, culminating in the Seine valley, which offers breathtaking views from its heights. The diversity of animals that inhabit the area, including the many wetland birds, is a delight for lovers of the living world.

More than ever before, the Château d'Hardricourt wants its guests to discover its surroundings. Thanks to a cell phone application, the Château's team has come up with a dozen walking and cycling routes to discover these natural wonders.

When it comes to sports, guests can also enjoy activities along the water or on one of the 8 golf courses. With its castles and museums, you can also combine nature with culture, notably at Vétheuil and Giverny, veritable memorials of Impressionism and the home of Claude Monnet.

A guesthouse designed as a luxury hotel

Intimate and luminous from the moment you enter, the salons of Château d'Hardricourt have been restored to their original splendor to host cocktails, photo shoots, tea-time... A dining room has been completely restored to accommodate private lunches or dinners for up to sixteen people.

With period furniture subtly blended with contemporary pieces, the history of the château is reborn in this preserved 19th-century setting.

For an even more exceptional experience, the Château d'Hardricourt can be fully privatized for a day or a week.
